Wtf
He's full of crap. Just goes to prove that 3rd party extended warranty companies will do anything they can to deny coverage. If this is a FORD extended service plan, you have a good chance for resolution.
Can they prove it? That's the deal with that Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act is all about. You will need to go thru your warranty coverage and find all the 'fine print' to see if what they are claiming is what you agreed to..
Sucks for sure, as like was said, that's not any significant change in tire size and if anything, it would be more "transmission failure" related than the engine...
Sounds like you got taken on your aftermarket "extended warranty" company...
Good luck!

I've never had a problem with Ford ESP warranties. Period.
The last big warranty job only set me back my $50 deductible. Ford even included fluids and a few "consumable" parts, that technically I should've had to pay for.
When I had my 2003 Ford Escape, the transmission blew up 4 times (CD4E, stator kept going). All covered under warranty. No hassles -- they even hooked me up with a rental car too.
If you have an aftermarket warranty -- good luck.
