Building a raptor clone.. tire size for 3.73 gears

Going to use an '09-'14 F-150 FX4 to build my Raptor clone.. originally the '10 Raptor rolled on 35" All-Terrain T/A KO (315/70R17) tires.. the '09 FX4 comes with P275/65R18 all-terrain OWL tires.. gear wise the Raptor has 4.10's and the FX4 comes with 3.73's.. Can I match the Raptors tires with the 3.73s or is it going to be to much.. don't want to change gears

You would get the same RPM at the same speed with 32's. You could run 35's with 3.73's with a Ecoboost or 6.2 - a 5.0 or 5.4 would be doggy at the bottom end.

I'm actually running 34s with my '01 5spd v6, with 3.55. It's not fast by any means, but the only gear that needs more feathering (or feels boggy) with the clutch is reverse!? Isn't that a bit odd? If throwing in a 4.10 ring and pinion would be like just over 1k It'd do it! :-)

A bit off topic, but you should be able to get 4.10's for under $1k for a 2wd. However, a programmer and tunes would put the whole thing over $1k.

Just slip the clutch out in reverse without hitting the gas, the IAC should keep it from stalling. Then give it some gas if necessary.

Well surely the ring and pinion isn't 1k, but the labour is like $800. I think I saw the kit for sale like 300? Ugh.... the $ is just going bye bye! I think I'd like to install electric fans next! Programmer and tunes are optional yeah?

Programmer is almost mandatory with non-stock gears and/or tires.

You must be talking Canadian dollars? Not anywhere near that expensive here.

I'm in FL. I have 34s and never got it tuned. Don't know a thing about that! I'll look into seeing if there are others who can do the gears, but the one quote I got was $800 for labour! EEEsh
