It’s time to replace the tires on my 2005 F150 SuperCrew Lariat 4X4. My truck original came with Goodyear Wrangler AT/S size LT275/65 R18 Load C. It currently has Toyo Open Country A/T LT285/65 R18 Load E. I got a price from a local tire place for four Toyo Open Country including mounting, balancing and disposal of old tires. It going to be close to $1,000 for the LT275/65 R18 and about $400 more if I want the bigger LT285/65 R18.

Aside from the fact that the price seems a bit high, why would the next size up be so much more. The size difference is almost not even noticeable.
