Question Will the 01 Lightning wheels fit on a 98

When I went on tirerack.com & pulled up a 98 ext. cab ford it only shows the 99 & 00 Lighting rims to fit. But I want the 01 rims on my 98. Has anybody done this or know if it will work?

P.S. I know they sell the 01 models, I went & pulled up a 2001 ext. cab & it shows they do sell them for that model of truck.

Question

I don't know for sure but as far as I do know, '99 Lightning wheels with the 12mm lug holes are the only ones that will fit our '98 models. '00, '01 Lightning wheels have a 14mm lug hole size which is too big and will fit loosley. Your '98 has 12mm studs which can only fit wheels with 12mm stud holes. Make sure you ask the seller what size the stud hole diameter is before you buy some.

The 14mm lug holes on 00 and 01 rims will work on 99 and earlier trucks with 12mm studs. The wheels are hub centric, not lug centric so the larger lug holes work fine. Several other folks on this board have done so without problems. You can't go the other way - mount 12mm lug holes on a 14mm stud - without having the lug holes redone to accomodate the larger studs.

I know they will. I have my brothers old (2000) Lightning wheels with 14mm holes on my 2000 F150 with 12mm studs.

Heres a pic
