35" tire on 17x8 wheel?

Getting a set of 35" mud grapps here soon. Wondering if anybody is running them or any other 35 on a 8" wide rim. I know it can be done, but I've also heard of possible wear problems with a wheel less than 8.5" and a tire that big (yeah I know the mud grapps wear like s*** anyways). Am I going to have to air down or do I need to get new wheels at least 8.5" wide??

If the tires are 12.5 wide you will be fine running an eight inch rim. Anything less you will start to have wear issues.

Every 35" tire we offer requires a wheel that is 8.5" wide, as stated by the manufacture.

Will it work, probably. Is it recommended, no.

thanks for the replies. Think I'm going to chalk test them after they are mounted and see what kind of psi to look for.
