Ran both brands on a mustang I used to have. Toyos went bald quick on me. Another reason I run mud grapplers over toyo mts

Thanks Muddy! Been hearing more and more that tread life has been an issue for quite a few folks with the Proxes. Keep the info coming y'all! It sure is appreciated! I did find out yesterday that I actually have until the end of May to take advantage of a killer tire deal here in town. I originally thought I had to the end of April to decide, but time is on my side now.

Sure was hoping to get more input/experiences on these (or any) tires. Anyone? Thanks again in advance!

Since I've been just been hopping around here digging up bones the last week or 2, I figured I'd throw some personal life experience out there in case anyone is looking at getting new treads soon.

Ended up going with the Nitto 420S in 305/40R22. No noticeable increase in road noise. A lot better traction while under acceleration or emergency braking. MUCH better in the rain. The added width has also save the wheels from getting curbed a time or 2. But the thing that has really impressed me the most is how well they have held up! After about 35k miles, the tread depth is surprisingly healthy and corner wear is minimal, even though they have only been rotated twice. All in all, couldn't be happier with the choice that was made!
Thanks to all the ppl that provided input and votes!

Learned something today. LOL!

Well, after a long romance with my set of Nitto 420s, I just learned that they have been discontinued. Which is ok now that the wheels are wrapped in the new 420v series sized in 305/40R22. Absolutely love them. It’s kinda like having a brand new (driving anyways) truck again. Funky tread pattern, but very responsive. Great traction from a dig, stopping, and even cornering. Yes I know it’s a truck and those words aren’t supposed to go together. LOL! Price was right too. I can hear just a TINY bit of road noise at certain speeds, but nothing bothersome. Really had to try to even hear any.
