In need of a starting point

Aloha F150 Nation! I have two quick questions that I need help getting started. Recently traded my 2007 F150 XLT for 21k, and got me the 2013 XLT with the ecoboost engine. Looking to upgrade the exhaust system for a bass-y growl (the his of the ecoboost is lame). So that's the first question.

Second question is regarding installing after market rims and tires, and it's effects on the sensor system. Where can I purchase the sensor and can they be easily installed? Not sure how it is in other states but here in the 808, you can't pass the safety check with the tire pressure light on.

Thanks for your time!

Mahalo!

You can buy new TPMS sensors on EBay, but most people just re-use the OEM sensors.

if you decide not to put in the sensors, they will not trip a code for about 15 miles if you have the tires stored in the same garage

Mahalo for the response wandell! Are the oem's the one in the stocks? If I get the tpms ones on eBay how do I calibrate the, to the system? Sorry as you can tell I am a novice and as my friend calls me "broke-chanic".

Mahalo in advance for your help.

I believe there is a special tool to recalibrate new sensors, but I'm not positive. Like I said, most just reuse the stock sensors.

Hi KITSU,

Congrats on the new 2013 Ecoboost! If you’re interested in upgrading your exhaust, check out our cat-back systems offered for your truck. Our “Touring” system (part #140438) will give your F150 a mild growl that’s slightly louder than the stock exhaust. Our “S-Type” system (part #140466) kicks it up a notch with a more aggressive, throatier sound. Since all of our systems are designed and tuned specifically for each vehicle, you can get the exhaust note you’re looking for without having to worry about drone in the cabin. Both of these systems come with dual 4” polished tips, are made of high quality, 300-series austenitic stainless steel, and come with our Million Mile Warranty. I’ve included a link below to our YouTube video of our exhaust options for the Ecoboost. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 805-986-8600. Have a good day!
