front end vibrates big time

I just bought this truck and put a engine in it. runs great but, when I hit the brakes hang on because the front ends shakes. I have to let off brake or steer to R or L to stop it. You have any idea what that might be? Has anyone else had this problem?

"this truck" means nothing to the rest of us.
How about a model year and some real details?

But in general, a hung up caliper is typically due to the sliders. Pull the calipers off and put in new pins and boots. Make sure you grease them good. Search around for stuck caliper and you will see lots and lots and lots and lots of discussions about them.

Could be warped rotors. If you aren't an experienced brake tech, I'd take it to a shop for a brake and front end inspection.

tsmiller70,

What is the year and mileage of your truck? Have you taken it to your dealer to have them diagnose this shaking?

Hey it is a 2000 f 150 with 270000 miles on it. I just bought new brakes and rotors was gonna put them on today. But I pulled my back out this week end. I am changing them and rotating the tires and see what happens.
