Bfg or Mickey Thompson

Got to get me some new tires. I have had bfg mt km2 on last 2 sets. Love the tires. No plugs, rotate every 5k , have 56k on a set and 53k on this set. In next few months looking to get some. Only dislike is how they roar when ore half way and better. Gets loud in the truck.i am also looking at mickey Thompson atz radial. Hear they get good mileage. I know one is mt and one is at. I like looks of both and occasionally get in mud. What do fOlks think bout the mickey thompsons?

My dad has a set of KM2s on his F-250. They seem to be a great set of tires overall. I can't speak for the Mickey Thompson ATZ but I do have the MTZ on my F-150. I would suggest you take a look at them...I love them! They ride nice for a mud tire and have gotten me through everything I've thrown at them up to this point (nothing major, just some rutted and sloppy logging/gas trails). The only thing that you may not like is they ride a little louder than the KM2s, even on a lighter duty truck. But if you're skeptical about getting something too loud and you love the KM2s that much, why not just pick up a third set? You already know you can't really go wrong with them.

The MTZ and ATZ are both great tires. THe MTZ is a little on the loud side though. Also, the ATZ comes in a couple different tread patterns, depending on the tire size. The wide sizes are more aggressive and better looking than the narrower sizes.

Yea...I contacted MT about the different ATZ's because naturally my luck is my size is the goofy looking tread.

With that said howver, if you're considering the ATZ, you might want to be patient for a couple more months. They are coming out with a completely new tire called the ATZ P3.

The sidewall lugs on those look sweet!!! Almost like a reinvented baja belted tire.

I just put my second set of 35 12.5 20 MT Baja ATZ's on my Sierra. First set got over 50k miles with tread to spare. Great traction. Light for their size. I'd buy them again and again.

Local shop here says they had problems with 305s. 3 sets sold have dry rotted and wwere replaced. That make me angry. I'm still thinking. I have friends that haven't had luck w Toyo mt. Only bout 40 k miles and done. I take care of mine and rotate every 5 k and check pressure etc. I really like looks of atz

I had balancing/out-of-round issues with my last 2 sets of BFG AT/KO, so I tried the MT's. I'll never go back to BFG.
