2010 XLT Rim & Tire help

Friends of mine just picked up a 2010 XLT extended cab long bed. For some reason it came with basic steel rims and looks like crap!!! Current tires are 245/75/17's. I'm gonna see if I can find them a nice set of aluminum factory rims or rims/tires on Craigslist for a decent price. Gonna stick with 17's. What size tires would work well and what year F150 factory rims will be a direct bolt-on.

Any 6 lug wheels from an 04 and up F150 will fit, and it shouldn't be hard to find a set that already has stock sized tires on them.

Unfortunately, not necessarily. The 04 FX4 rims will not clear the calipers, not because of diameter, but because of width. If you stay with 09 up, you should be okay. I am using a set of XLT 17" rims for the 04 on my 09, but I am not sure they would work on a 10 as the calipers were changed again in 10.

I didn't realize that. I guess he will have to look for the XLT 17s or the 09-up 17s. To the OP, do you have anything against moving up to 18s? You should be able to easily find a good set of 18s from an 04-up.

Thanks for the replies! 18's would be fine but they would not be able to use there current tires. This 2010 F150 only has 10,000 miles on it so the tires have a lot of life left. Finding a good deal on a set of 18's with tires would be really cool. Been checking out Craigslist in Michigan and have not found much so far.

I believe it was all FX4 wheels in 04 that had the problem with 09 up, Not sure about FX4 05-08 wheels. Have you checked the classifieds here? There might be some out there.
