wheels and understanding "offset"

hello,
I have a 2011 fx4 ecoboost in sterling gray. I am looking to get some new wheels and tires. I have about 12500 on the original tires, and the dealer I purchased from offers first set free. So, I am planning on paying the difference from the OE Goodyears to maybe some trail or terra grapplers and maybe XD rock stars (black). At this point I do not want to put fender flairs on so I am wondering what wheel offset I should look at to keep my tires flush to just past the fenders? I will probably stay with the original tire size or at most just jump up on the diameter a little. I assume I will need to get speedo stuff reset. Also any billet grille recommendations would be nice.
thanks

You will want to stay pretty close to stock offset, and I'm not exactly sure what the offset is of stock wheels, but it is somewhere around +35 to +40. The less offset you have, the more the wheel will be pushed out of the wheel well. Since you want them to either be flush or just past the fenders, go with between +18 to +35. Going up one tire size won't hurt anything, and you can get a leveling kit for pretty cheap and go up a little more in tire size.
