Will 01' wheels fit an 05'?

alright, so on to the next issue. I have a pretty sweet set of flat black aftermarket wheels that were on my 01' F-350, and I'd like to put them on my new 05' F-250. I tried to put one on the rear today, and the lugs lined up fine, but something didnt look right. The stuck out a bit and backspacing seemed a bit off. Is there any way to get these babies to work on the new truck?

Yes, they will fit. But as you found out the newer Super Duty trucks use more backspacing than the earlier SD's.

Is it safe to mount them with the difference in backpacking? I want to be sure that the lugs have enough thread through the wheel so the nuts have something to grab. Also, I only tried one wheel in the rear. I noticed that the axle end/hub doesnt stick through the wheel as much as my other truck, due to the difference in backpacking. Is this cool?

Yes, they will work as long as the shallow BS doesn't cause you fitment issues with your tires.

you should be fine. SD's love 4.5" of BS but the 05-07 can use wheels with greater BS and less offset as well.

my 20x10 -24mm 4.5" BS wheels would fit just fine on a stock 05+ SD but stick out further on each side because of the axle widths
