08 tpms? edit, more questions

Does anyone know if my 08 f150 lariat has valve stem or band sensors? I'm wanting to swap them to 23s and just realized I might need new bands.

i found i had band sensors and decided to buy a new set. i installed the wheels yesterday, took it for a test drive and the tires felt soft. i looked at them and the sidewall was a little squished, they were at 38 psi, i took them to 50 psi, thats what the tire said was max. they look and feel much better. i drove it to dinner last night, 10 miles down a 2 lane one way.
so this morning i got to thinking my light never came on and i didnt calibrate them, all i did was put them on. i would think with the different sensors, and the increase in pressure something shouldve came up.

doesnt this sound odd??

You have band sensors. If you want to reuse the sensors, you will need new bands and have to at least partly break down the OE tires/rims. There are bands out there that are much cheaper than OE.

Just make sure you get the ones compatible with the 08, not 09 up. Otherwise they will not work.

The light you got has nothing to do with air pressure. It is a system fault for the system. Pressure would be quicker.

Go here for the valve stem type..they work great and you don't have to totally dismantle the tire to install them www.revolutionsupply.com You will have to get a re-set tool or have the dealer re-set them for you

I already got the band sensors. I'm taking it back to the tire shop to have them set up to the truck. I was expecting an instant error.
