Need help with tire sizes!

Okay, So I'm a new user. I looked around but couldn't find a direct answer. I have a 2001 f150 offroad package 4x4 with t-bars cranked with aftermarket 16x8 rims. I have 285 MTR's now but need new tires soon. I want to go bigger. So 305's would be next but would they rub? I don't care if I have to trim the plastic, I care if they hit the inside part. Also, if 315's are basicly the same width but taller, then if the 305's fit shouldn't the 315's? Im looking at bfg all terrains or goodyear duratracs but can't decide! BFG's make a 295 tire also, but I'm leaning towards the duratracs if I could fit 305's or 315's. Any advice would be appreciated!

Both will fit, the 305s will rub less since theyre essentially a 33. The 315's will rub the frame when turning and probably the inside of the fender while turning and going over bumps of course this depends on the backspace of the wheel also.

Impossible to answer without knowing the backspacing of your wheels.

Measure it. Backspacing is the distance from the mounting surface of the wheel (where it bolts to the hub) to it's rear edge.

Okay I won't be able to take the rim off to measure it until next week, so wandell, what would be anough backspacing to clear 305 tires so they wouldnt rub at full turn?
