TPMS question for wheel swap

I'm trading in my 09 fx4 for a '12 fx4 tomorrow and am having the dealer put the 09 factory 20's on the new one (it has 18's). My question is...Will they have to swap the TPMS sensors in order for the truck to "communicate" with the ones that are on the swapped rims? Not sure the easiest way to do this. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Not 100% sure if the 09s will work, but I do know there are some differences, including the reset procedure. Ford may be the only one that can answer your question.

Thanks, Kingfish51. I usually like to walk into the dealership knowing what I'm talking about because I've seen too many times when they don't. :-)

The same 315 MHz sensor is used on the 09' and 12' models of the FX4. They should be able to just move your sensors over to the new truck and re-register them.

Thanks, Cash. Besides not wanting to give up the 20" rims, I don't want to give up my Michelin LTX AT's that I got from you guys.
