You left out basically all info on your truck.

But no you'll be fine running 35's on stock gearing, you'll just have a loss of power and a bigger drop in gas mileage than if you did regear.

Welcome to the forum!

Yes you will be fine with 35's and 3.73 gearing. A programmer will help a little and will also adjust your speedo so it will read correctly.

Edge or gryphon is the most recommended. Sct with troyer tunes are great as well. I am happy with my diablosport predator as it was the only one with preloaded intake tunes. They are great for getting your shift points and speedometer corrected. I have 3.55 gears with 34.5 inch tires and it does fine. Still getting around 14 mpg.

Don't call a programmer a chip either. That's a ricer term. Chips=Nothing

First - welcome!

Save up for either a new tranny rebuild or a set of 4.56's (or 4.30's if yer 2WD).

Yer gonna get tired of the loss of torque multiplication and being a dog, sooner or later.

Being in denial is plain silly. You WILL be stressing yer drivetrain running undergeared . Yer shift points WILL be affected. Yer speedo and Odo WILL be wrong. Yer mileage WILL suffer. You WILL feel the power loss unless yer personal butt-dyno is broken or yer personal reality distortion field is set to maximum.

You can ignore the physics involved in adding significant rotational inertia (as a function of the square of the speed, no less) and static mass, but I assure you, the physics will NOT ignore you

I've driven enough of these things back to back, instrumented, to know this for myself.

As for a flash programmer - go fully custom from the get-go - does not cost any more, and the results are far better; you will need to regain all the torque you can get :

www.vmptuning,com SCT X3, Model 3000. Avoid 'canned' Edge - they are crap in comparison.

You CANNOT use a chip - yer PCM has no J3 port.

Sorry - left all my candies in the cupboard. May want to begin the Search journey, read all the stickies, etc, if yer serious in learning more about this stuff on yer own. Much better retention that way ....

Where you get that chart?? It's saying for OEM 32in tire the factory ratio should be 4.11 but Ford went with 3.73 for better gas mileage?? Then we say going from 3.73 to 4.11 is no difference.. I would think 4:30 would put me back to almost stock but this chart says 4.56 is almost stock..

Here's another:

And more - pick one, lol: http://www.google.ca/search?tbm=isch....0.gU_x0gke3GA

Point being - it's fer reference only - remember - these charts assume yer final ratio is 1:1 - it's actually 0.7:1 (due to the OD gear in 4th).

Either way you slice it - 3.73's are NOT anywhere near optimal with the crappy gear spread of that 4R75E. IF this was a 6R80 truck - different story (think Raptor).

So if this chart is showing numbers for 65mph then my rpm's are not matching up for 3.73 gears and 35's... 70mph(74mph per gps). I should be in the 2328-2397 Range...

those charts dont take overdrive into account.

i think our over drive is like .70 or something. the chart is a 1:1 ratio.
