Do i need them

Hi guys, i was just at my local tire shop looking at some new wheels for my 2012 ecoboost. They said i will have to buy low tire sensers for each wheel or else my low tire light will be on all the time. They want 270.00 for the sensers. Is there a way to shut the light off or maybe some place i can get them cheaper that just seams hi. I see a lot of other members with after market wheels, what did you guys do to your rigs? Thanks for any replies.

Can't they re-use your TPMS out of your old wheels.

^ this. Should be able to reuse stock ones. One reason I am glad I have an 06, no tpms sensors, have only heard negative things about them.

You have three options. You can reuse your OEM sensors in the new wheels (which is what most people do). This cost you nothing. You can run the new wheels with no sensors and live with the low pressure light burining. This also cost nothing. Or you can buy a complete new set of new sensors for the new wheels. This cost you money and means more profit for your tire/wheel dealer. Wonder why they recommended this??? LOL

Don't you get a message in the display that you have to turn off everytime you start the truck? I didn't think it was just a light anymore.

$270 for a set of 4 new TPMS sensors isn't bad.

My shop gets about $100 a pop for them when we have to replace them.
