Clear-coat help!

I found out that the rims on my F250 are clear-coated aluminum. I know this now because I used a brush that I thought was soft enough to clean them which left light scratches in the surface of the coat visible in the sun. Tried a small amount of aluminum polish just to test it and it did not turn black.

Does anyone know of a product that will polish up this clear coat and remove, or at least reduce the appearance of these scratches? I would appreciate the help.

Check with the body shop at your local Ford Dealer. If the scratches are not too bad you may be able to re-coat the scratched area. My dealer gave me a 3 oz bottle of clear coat with a brush on the cap for use on body scratches.

Smile waynemb-

Try a clearcoat safe scratch remover/polish for the body paint on the wheels.
