I've got an F-150, Arizona Beige and would like to get opinions on the color to paint the brake calipers. I'm thinking of using POR-15 High Temperature Coating but can't decide if I should use Ford Blue, Ford Green, T-Bird Red, or (don't shoot) Chevy Orange. Any ideas?

I have always like red for calipers. Makes them look like high dollar brembo brakes. That T-Bird Red will really stand out against your beige truck behind those wheels.

 

Mine are bright red. I just used regular Krylon engine paint. Behind my stock 17" ORP wheels it doesn't pay to be subtle. Go for something bright like red or yellow or even bright blue so they will show through!

By the way, you may have an advanced case of f-150 obsession if you are painting your calipers! LOL!

 

I'm glad to hear the Krylon engine paint holds up. I bought some weeks ago intending to do my calipers and drums but am yet to find the time. what kind of surface prep are you doing? I intend to sandblast the drums but don't want that abrasive near my calipers, they seam to be cleaner than the drums anyway.
Maybe this weekend! I've got to keep busy while waiting for my Airforce one kit.

 

I just pulled my wheels off last week,hehe. I painted the drums gloss high heat black,the discs HH Silver,and the calipers cast color,,you know the paint those guys use to pass off rebuilt parts as new. Looks great,and doesn't stick out like sore thumb,,,,98

 

will white calipers hold up or get really dirty? Cuz i have a white windshield sticker and i think it would match well with the white Rancho's too. THanks

 

I did the drums and the calipers an engine enamel blue, looks heavy. I wanted to go with a light purple (cuz it looks good with black) but my buddy told me I'd look like a wuss or an imitation ricer mobile; thus, I went with the blue.

 

I painted mine with the 1400 degree paint from Pep Boys too. Don't recall the brand name though. They are holding up very well. I just wipe them off occasionally to keep the brake dust from building up.
