Tire size question??

What do you think the mpg difference would be between the 305x50x20 and 305x55x20 Nitro Terra grappler and which tire do you think i should go for.

I am putting them on 20x8 XD Spy rims and am putting a leveling kit on my 2011 eco 4x4.

Right now I have 275x65x20 tires on the truck and I'd like something just a little taller.

How much do you think my mileage with the affected

Thx, Pete

A 275x65x20 is a 34x11 tire and taller then a 305x55x20 which is 33.2x12.6. The 305 is shorter but wider. Mileage should be close with both tires.

What pawpaw said, you will lose some height and gain some width with the 305/55s. If you want something a little taller, then look at getting some 35x12.50s or even some 295/60s.

As a general rule (many variables), a taller tire will hurt fuel mileage. IMHO, an 8" wide wheel is way too narrow for a 305.

Something else to consider. Unsprung weight. A toyo MT weights 18 lbs more than the AT. That unsprung centrifical weight can kill torque too. 4.56 or 4.88 gear would be a good idea too.

Actually the tires I have right now are 275x60x18 not 20 so the 305x55x20 should be a little taller. The rims I'm looking at are 20x8.5 and the 20x9 Im towld wont work because of the offset. Thanks for all the help
