I need Help on finding good tires

I need help on finding new tires that would be really good in the snow and ice. I have a F150 STX 4X4, I have just purchased snow tires for the wifes minivan so I cannot afford two set for my truck, any suggestions? I have been looking at Cooper Discoverer AT3 but cannot find any reviews regarding snow and ice.

I just put on a set of the Cooper ST Maxx. Right after getting them on, I got on the interstate and drove down snowy and icy highways across Montana. In 2 days I have about 300 miles, all on road but probably 50 or so miles on very slippery snowy and icy roads. There were 3 vehicles in the ditch through one 15 mile stretch. I am very impressed with this tire so far. From my understanding the AT3's and the ST Maxx are very similar in composition and tread life. The guy in the tire shop called the AT3's slightly more aggressive and the ST Maxx a commercial grade tire with better sidewall protection. I opted for the ST Maxx as I do a very large portion of my driving on rough gravel/scoria roads.

ETA: The ST Maxx tires are also studdable, so if you find a tire shop willing you can stud them in the winter and have the studs pulled in the spring. (pain in the @@@, but can be done)

Try at AT tire that is severe weather rated and decent siping, like the General Grabber AT2, Wrangler Silent Armour, Duratracs, lots of good choices, just depends on how much you want to spend. Best bang for your buck might be the Generals

My last set was firestone Destination AT and they were buy 3 get 1 free, i paid 400 for a set of stock AT's on 20" wheels. I have 55k miles on them. been a real good tire, much better that bgf's or goodyears, cooper is junk, they're rock hard and take forever to warm up to a smooth ride.
