How do I clean these rims

Ok so I just purchased a 1999 Ford F150 XLT Supercab from my uncle. Only has 56k miles on it and looks great so I am excited, but it has a horrible white stuff on the rims. ( See pictures )

I have purchased Eagle One Nevr Dull and Meguuiars Hot Rims All Wheel cleaner but its still there.

Anyone have any suggestions to get these clean?

sorry about the big pics, I assumed the forum would shrink them down to size.

I have no idea honestly. They are factory 1999 F150 rims.

Tough to tell from the photos, but it could be failure of the clear coat. Any chance you have real hard water in your area? Is the surface smooth or can you feel the white stuff?

You can always try clay meant for paint - just don't use the clay for paint after you've done your wheels with it.

if you find out how to clean them, i'd love to know.
i was in a wreck and one of my wheels had chunks missing from it, and the body shop replaced it and now i have one nice shiny, almost chrome looking wheel, and the rest are like the ones you posted.

Clay bar worked on my wheels when I had embedded brake dust. If should pull that grime off the wheel easily. If it doesn't, you can pick up a set of stock wheels pretty cheap.

Couldnt find the reply box, the huge pics had it pushed off to the side.

That looks like a clear coat issue. Not sure if those are aluminum or not (they look it) but if they are and you want to polish them, youll need to remove the clear coat with about 600-800 grit, then 1000 grit, then polish. But then you will need to polish them about every month or so depending on your weather.
