So in my search for aftermarket rims, I see there are many that are discontinued, and since I'm going for the long haul (probably 10 years+), I'm wondering if it makes sense to buy a 5th wheel to replace the spare.

If I happen to do serious damage to one wheel, it will render the whole set useless, as chances of finding the exact wheel a few years from new seems nearly impossible.

I'm normally pretty careful and have never clouted a curb hard, but someone did pull out in front of me in another car and it broke the wheel and spindle on that corner, and I figure with the proliferation of "smart" phones, peoples' distractedness will just get exponentially higher.
