Ok, so I have decided on going with the Ballistic Hostel 17x9 in chrome for my 2010 F150 Screw 4x4 with 2" level and OEM fender flares. I need help figuring out which offset/backspacing to go with. From what I can tell, there are 2 different offsets for the Ballistic Hostel, a 0 and a +12. I want to get my tires flush with the OEM fender flares or even push them out JUST past the flares. I just do not want to be inside the flares, but I do not want to go any further than I have to. I am going to put 295/70/17 tires on the wheels, if that makes any difference in this calculation? Any help would be appreciated and photos of some different offsets/backspacing would be great!!! If anyone knows where the best place would be to buy these wheels, please let me know.

 

That is the offset, do u know if the backspacing is the same on both wheels? If so the +offset will tuck in more. I am guessing that the backspacing will differ. If one has 4.5 or so and the other 5.5, I would go with the 5.5 or similar as the 4.5 will stick out significantly. Update with backspacing specs for additional info.

 

Update:
I found out that on the 17x9 Ballistic Hostel, the +12 offset has a 5.5" Backspace. That being the case, I believe that the 0 offset would be a 5" Backspace. I hope this additional info helps and is what you needed to help me out. Thanks.

 

The 5 inches of BS will stick out 1/2 inch more then the 5 1/2 inch. These are 17x9 wheels with 5 inches of BS with 295x70x17 Toyo MT's on my '04.

 

Thanks PawPaw! That is the tire size that I intend to run and it looks pretty good. I went to your album and checked out your pics, but I could not find a pic that looked straight down the side to see just how far out past the fender flares the tire was. It looked like you had changed wheels and I liked the look of the 6 spoke wheel. I did notice the 2 pics showing how close the tire got and almost rubbed. Do you recall what size of wheel it was and what the backspacing or offset was? Was that a different size tire on the 6 spoke wheel? Thanks.

 

The 6 spoke wheels were bought to run 315x70x17 BFG's, I sold the truck with those wheels with the 295x70x17 Toyo's on. I still have the 17x9 dish type in my garage. I've had a tire and wheel fetish since I was 17 year's old! Had my first set of chrome reverse wheels on a '62 Impala at that age.

 

This may help out, this assy stick's out 2 inches more then stock and with 295x70x17 Toyo's.
