Anyone with chrome moto metal wheels

Just bought the 18x9 chrome 951's. Just want to know from anyone who has chrome moto's of any style, how they like the chrome quality from this company and if they are holding up well. I live in the northeast and know the issues with the weather in winter and what Ill be up against if I keep them on, but overall whats the opinion out there????

just bought some used moto metal wheels this weekend on the cheap from craigslist. The chrome looks like its pitted up from brake dust pretty good. IM thinking of getting them powder coated or just flipping them.

Pm me if you are interested in selling the motos. Let me know the size and price you would like for them.

Thanks Robbie

I've never had any moto metal wheels, but with any chrome wheels you want to make sure you have good brakes. When I got my Pro Comps wheels, I went ahead and checked the brakes. Only the back needed replacing, so I put Wagner thermoquiets on the back and they are great. The back wheels can go 3 months without cleaning and still be shiny with very little brake dust on them. The front with stock pads after 1 month of no cleaning are covered in dust and are not shiny.

Had 951s on the 2005 I traded in a few months back. You definitely need to keep them clean. And in my opinion they are a pain to clean in between the double spokes. The brake dust will pit them pretty quick if you don't keep up with cleaning. I don't think the chrome is any worse than other brands, they seem all equally poor. Plenty of snow around here and I always ran stockers in the winter. Always amazed me how great the stock wheels held up being neglected through the winter compared to the Motos that were only used in summer and were better maintained. Don't know if I will ever own another set of chrome wheels, clear coated alloy seem to hold up so much better.
