Cross-Rotating Vibration

You guys (especially you guys with mud/aggressive tires) ever rotate and/or cross-rotate your tires and end up with worse vibrations and crap than you did before you rotated??

I let my tires go a little longer than I'd like to this past time (went 10,000) before rotating. I was starting to notice a tiny bit of feathering on the front tires, but nothing to get excited about. Not a big deal since I had plans to rotate at 10,000 anyways. Was getting a normal mud tire feel from the tires...nothing to attract attention. Well, I did my cross-rotation (rears straight to the front/fronts crossed to the rear) and now at highway speeds it's pretty significant! A lot more than before the rotation. Around town you don't notice but at highway speeds it'll keep ya awake No teeth rattling, but no sleeping. It kinda comes and goes in frequencies as well. Funny.

Guess I'm just wondering what you guys do if and when you've seen this? I'm sure it's from the front tires that went to the back and they'll settle down once they get smoothed out from the new location on the truck.

Oh well...small price to pay for a good looking tire IMO!

I have all-terrain tires and I am getting a vibration at around 70 mph. I normally rotate front to rear each time. On my last rotation 1,300 miles ago, I went with Ford’s recommendation rear to front & fronts to rear crossed. I got my wheels balanced this week & the vibration got a little better but not completely gone. I am going to swap the rear tires side to side and will let you know. Good luck with your testing.

Galaxy, your tires may need to be balanced again.
