87 F-150 Brake Issues

I have a 1987 F-150 4X4 I6. Lately the breaks have been acting up. Seems like the pressure on the pedal is different everytime I come to a stop and there is a really odd clicking sound coming from somewhere outside the truck. The sound doesn't seem like it's straight from the pads or anything either. No leaks, at least not counting the minor oil leak, but no brake fluid leaks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

the clicking sound may be your ABS... does your truck have ABS?

if so, then maybe you have a bad speed sensor.

Yes the truck has abs. Also every time the truck goes over about 50mph the rear antilock light comes on...

You would only have rear abs that don't work worth a crap anyway, but pull the fuse for the abs and see if the noise n such goes away.

Yup! Took the fuse out and everything went away. Thanks guys. Ordered a new speed sensor. Prolly wait until it gets here and then put the fuse back in so I don't have to put up with that click anymore. I appreciate all the help from everyone.

Good to hear. My ABS doesn't work and I don't plan on fixin it.
Seems those sensors go bad all to often.
