Hey guys, couldnt find an answer for this question.

I used to own a 99 reg cab flareside 4x4, with 16" stock wheels.

I am purchasing a 00 reg cab flareside 4x4, with 17" stock wheels.

Same trim models (XLT).....so why did they change to a 17 from one year to the next?

If I wish to buy new wheels and tires, can I go back down to a 16" size on the 00 without fitment issues?

 

You can run 16" wheels fine on 97 - 03 trucks. I'm running 16's with no issue.
