35x12.5 on 17x8 wheels

anybody running this set up? I know 17x9 is ideal for 35x12.5 but I really like the wheels I have and I'm wondering if I am going to run into any problems putting 35's on a 17x8 wheel.

Hi there I have the XD spy 17x8 with 5.21 BS wrapped in 315/70R17 Kelly Safari TSR. I have a 2.5" level. They would rub the front plastic valance when turning so I just cut a slant of the corners off and now no rubbing in forward or reverse, full steering lock. Very happy with the look.

If you're only leveled the 8" wheels will clear 35x12.5's better then a 9" wheel will. I've tried both!

I am getting a 4 inch lift so rubbing isn't an issue I am just concerned about the limits on the 35x12.5 is 8.5 to 10 and I only have 8's

You need to go by the lift manufacturer's wheel specs. If you're going with a Rancho 4" you ought to be OK. 35x12.5's work fine on a 8" wide wheel. I ran them for year's on a 8" wheel.

Haha yeah I like them because of having a nice balance of black and chrome and the chrome on the wheels help tie in with the chrome on the truck.
