2WD Rear Tires

Heys guys. I currently have a pair of A/T's on the rear axle(20K miles) and street slicks on the front.(10K) I want to upgrade to some m/t's. I'd like to put just 4 new tires all in the same size, but my fronts are pretty dern new, and I dont know if I can justify the cost.

1. Can you sell your tires to the tire dealer and generally how much will you get for them?
2. If I was to just get 2 tires for the rear, would them being a size bigger matter?

Thanks.

A1: I think that depends on the dealership. If its a chain I am going to say doubtful, if its a mom and pop (privately owned), they may be willing to buy them, but I doubt they will offer you a lot for them. Your best bet may be to eat the cost of the new tires up front, then try to sell the tires through craigslist or something.

A2: On a 2wd it will not be a problem running a larger size on the rear, if you have a LS just make sure the back to at least match. One downfall to doing this is you can no longer rotate your tires front to rear, so your new front tires will have a shortened lifespan.

My vote, get 4 new ones all the same size, then try to sell the new ones, if not back to the dealership put them up for sale elsewhere.

That's really what I want to do, but I don't know if the 'rents are going to let me spend even my own money because they don't know why I want to put new tires haha. Time for convincing them now...hehe

went to discounttiredirect.com and found some BFG's.

KM2's 255/85/16-$788
T/A KO 265/75/16-$752

Plus a $50 dollar rebate for either of them.

Looks like a good deal to me. How many miles are people getting out of the KM2s and how do they handle on the road. I know the KO's aren't good in mud, which is mainly the offroading I do, but I'm assuming they'll last longer and ride better.

Thanks.

Oh and isn't Ford having a tire sale right now? $100/rebate and price match? Would they match an online price?
