275/70/17 Goddyear Wrangler MT/R?
I saw on a recent post that Goodyear has come out with a new 275/70/17 Wrangler MT/R. I checked the website and looked into ordering them here in the dealership, but don't seem to find that they exist. Let me know what ya know about them.
I just sent an email to their consumer services department to see if in fact they have started to make this tire. From the sources I have (which are fairly high up in management), it appeared that there wasn't a large enough niche for these bigger sizes. Once I get a response from their everyday people, I will let everyone know what the status is. Until then, lets keep our fingers crossed in hopes that this tire is being made.
I received an email today from consumer services of Goodyear. Here is what they said:
Thank you for contacting our web site and for your interest in the Wrangler
MT/R. It is currently manufactured in the LT265/70R17, LT275/70R17 and
37X12.50R17 sizes.
I replied to this email with the question, what about 33's or 35's since they jump from 32's up to 37's which i think is a little drastic. Rabbit, you are right though, they're webpage has not been updated since the new sizes have come out. My suggestion is to go straight to a Goodyear/gemini service store to see if they have them in stock. I myself will wait for the 35's.
Well I guess i'll be waiting for a while because they have no plans to make the 33s or 35s for the 17. Oh well.
