nitto trail grappler or mud grappler

hi i'm new to this site and i'm looking for some help. i want to buy a set of mud terrain tires in the next few weeks and i love like the look of the nitto mud grapplers, but i hear that they produce a lot of noise. i'm wondering is the noise really that bad? and is it worth it? i'm also considering the trail grapplers, not as aggressive looking but i'm told there much more quiet. i cant decide. any opinions would be helpful.

The first thing you need to do is decide where the majority of your driving will be and that should answer the question. All mud tires are noisier than all season or all terrain tires. The trade off is the mud tires work well in mud and they have a higher cool factor. The all season tires look wimpy but ride great on asphalt and are horrible in mud. The all terrain tire rides pretty decent on asphalt and in between a mud tire and an all season tire in the mud. Everybody has a different opinion on what is best or what is loud. If you crank your stereo all the time on asphalt and actually drive in mud, then the mud tire will be fine. If you drive on asphalt 99% of the time, especially a lot of freeway driving, you will tire of the howl or hum of mud tire.

Oh, and by the way, I do have the Trail Grapplers on my super crew and I like how they perform on the street. I haven't pushed them off road yet so I don't know how they are in dirt and mud but they will certainly be better than an all season tire.

You should also consider wear as the better tires are in mud, generally they wear out faster. Pay more up front and wear out faster so like the other reply says I would heavily consider how much off roading you really do.

i do like to go off roading a lot in the mud and usually go to the quarry once or twice a week in the summer, i came close but haven't gotten stuck yet and thats with all season tires so i want something a bit more reliable. but i also do quite a bit of highway driving and hauling a boat so the mud tire would wear out a lot faster, still a tough decision because the both pretty pricey lol

Here is a better shot of the tires. Pictures just don't do the justice.
