Lug Nuts/tpms

I have a 2007 xlt with 17" stock aluminum wheels. I am putting on some 17" aluminum wheels from a 2010. Will my lug nuts work ok with the newer model wheels?
Will the tpms sensors and the wire band switch over? Or will I have to cut them off and get a new band?

I think the lugs will work just fine.

Factory TPMS bands are one time use only. So, you'll need to order up 4 new bands. I bought my last set from American Muscle, http://www.americanmuscle.com/universal-tpms-bands.html Since your moving sensors from your old wheels, you might want to search for a source that sells just the bands. The one's I listed include the metal mounting cradles. Be careful with the plastic retaining clips, they break easily.

Im on the cheap so I was thinking about using super glue or gorilla glue and gluing them to the rim and then put some duct/gorilla tape over them for added security. Would that work? I dont want to seem to "Redneck" but I dont see why that would not work.

I understand the desire to go cheap. But figure it this way, if Ford could have made this work with just glue and no band, they would have. Remember automotive bean counters are the cheapest S.O.B.s on the planet. They're looking for fractions of pennies to cut.

Seriously, you can try whatever glue you want. But the sensor will work it's way off the wheel. And when that happens, it will probably damage the sensor. So, going cheap here will cost you extra sensors and the money to dismount/mount your tires again.

Thanks for the feedback I feel like an idiot though. I meant that I had 17" steel wheels (not aluminum). Will my lug nuts work with the aluminum wheels?

I still think the answer is they should. Why not call your local Ford parts counter and ask them. The will be able to tell you pretty quickly.
