I had my local Big O tire store tell me that they will do front and back
brakes on my F150 Supercrew using Akebono semi metallic or ceramic pads
including flushing the brake system. They also said I could have Ford pads
if I wanted. Then I could get Wagner TQ pads and do it myself. The rotors
appear to be in great shape. No deep grooves, actually no grooves at all, just
a smooth surface. No doubt cheaper if I get the Wagner pads.
But what do you think about the two types of Akebono pads compared
with the Wagners? I also heard that ceramic pads are hard on (eat up)
rotors.
A bit of advice and input would be appreciated since I will need to do
the fronts soon.
