Rockstars causing steering wheel shimmy?
I've only put about 500 miles on my new wheels and tires, and they have a pretty bad shimmy at 60+ MPH. They've already been balanced once and have not improved. Is this common with aftermarket wheels?
Our trucks are called hubcentric it uses the center bore to keep the wheel on the hub some wheels come predrilled for ford and chevy so if the center bore is bigger than your hub it can't cause what your talking about if you need rings it takes the space out and does not make the wheels stick out. Pull your center cap off and see if there is another set of holes drilled and look at the center bore and see if there's a gap or its pretty snug if you can take a pic.
I just looked and there is not a spacer. I'm going to call Discount Tire to see if they will order and install the rings.

I agree, when I got my aftermarket wheels I had them balanced three different times and still had a shimmy, finally got them road force balanced at the Ford dealership and they are fine now. Seems to be more of an occurrence in 20" plus diameter wheels.
They were. I went by a few days after I just had them installed and they retorqued them.
Update: The shop has gotten 2 sets of rings from their supplier and neither of them fit. One set fit the hubs but not the wheels, and the other fit the wheels but not the hubs.
Hopefully the 3rd time is the charm. They also ordered new tires in case they are the culprit.
