Easy fix for a broken rear wheel stud?

I was tightening my rear wheels last night and broke a stud. Is there an easy fix without removing backing plate? Any tips would be appreciated. Thank you.

No, trying to drive without a wheel stud is a recipe for disaster.

It's not hard to replace the stud(s). I did it on my 97 F150 last summer in a parking lot.

Remove the brake drum, rotate the axle shaft so the stud will clear the backing plate when driven out, then drive it out using a BFH and a long drift.

Insert the new stud from the back and use a lug nut or two to seat the replacement stud.

If your truck has rear disk brakes, you'll have to make the necessary adaptations.

Thank you for the reply. I had another broken stud replaced back in 2003 for $39.00. I am sure today’s prices are a lot higher. They were able to replace without removing everything. I picked up a wheel stud today & will remove the rotor & replace the stud. Recently I replaced the rear rotors, so hopefully it will come off easy.
