Tire size help?

I just bought a 2005 f150 XLT 4x4 w/ leveling kit AND 3 inch body lift. It currently has 35-12.50-17 mud tires on stock rims. Converting that size to metric I get a 315-70-17. Looking at 315-70-17 in Kelly Safari TSR or Fierce Attitude MT. Will I have any problems running this size tire on stock rims? I appreciate any input.

that's been a very popular subject here lately,,in a perfect world you would like to have an 8 1/2" to 9" wheel for that tire,,I have 325/65/18 on my stock wheels with no problems,,eventually I would like to get new wheels,,but I think you'll be fine,,i'm getting near 20,000 miles with my set-up and I could'nt be happier with it,,,good luck!!!!!!!

like philly 164 said in a perfect world a 9" wheel would be great. But who can just go out and buy new wheels. I sure cant. You should be fine running those tires on the wheel. They will probably wear in the middle a little mnore than usual but should be to bad. I would just run slightly less tire pressure and run with it. They will look really good on the truck.

I agree. But look at the big picture. Do you want aftermarket wheels in the future? If so, go with the 315's. If you plan on keeping your OEM wheels forever, I'd look for a slightly narrower size.

Thanks for the replies. Speaking of wheels, will aftermarket 17 inch wheels fit on these ford? I know Nissan Titans many aftermarket 17s would not fit due to clearing the brake head. How about these fords and what brands do you know that fit?

I haven't read of a fitment problem with 17 inch wheels on F-150's since 2005. Aftermarket companies catch on pretty quick.
