Backspacing and offset question

Backspacing and offset question

hey guys thanks for the help i dont know anything about backspacing and offset but i have a 2004 f150 with a 6 suspension and was wondering what backspacing i would need for it to be maybe makeing the tires stick out like an inch or to because i do have fender flares....also what is offset? thanks

The most common spec is a 9 inch wide wheel with 5 inches of backspacing. This will make the wheel stick out 2 inches farther than the OEM wheels.
Offset is the distance from the mounting surface of the wheel (where it bolts to the hub) to the center of the wheel. BS is the distance from the mounting surface to the rear edge of the wheel. Just two differnet ways of measuring the same thing. BS is just easier to visualize.
