Can i use these size tires.
Can i use these size tires.
Hey guys. I have an 06 F-150 lariat 2WD with the factory 20 inch wheels. I have factory 275/55/20 on it now and i would like to go to a 285/65/20 BFG All Terrian. Will they work or could i go bigger? The truck does have a 2.5 leveling kit on it. If yall could give me some feedback on this that would be great. Thanks.

On my 4x4, I run 275/65/20 BFG A/T's, without a level kit. Equals just about a 34" tire. No rubbing, but I could not go bigger. But again, mine is a 4x4. I think the 2wd's sit a little lower then the 4wd's.
Well i have a 2.5" leveling kit on the truck and it sits up just as high as a 4x4. I really want to go with a taller tire for the extra clearence. I know a 65 is not much taller, but where i live every little bit will help.
I fit 285/65/20 on my FX4 with a 2" leveling kit, no rubbing, but I was running aftermarket wheels with very similar offsets/backspacing. They should fit with OEM wheels, but it'll be tight.

Yeah thats what i hated about mine when i got it. I couldnt stand it sitting as low as it did in the front. The first upgrade to the truck was a 2.5" leveling kit. As i said before it is a 4x2. With the leveling kit i think i will be able to run the BFG AT 285/65/20.
Went to NTB earlier to see about the tires. The guys at the location didnt really seem to know what they were talking about. They said that a BFG 285/65/20 was not even available. I know they are cause some of yall on here have them. Also he said they would 100% not fit. After about ten min of the guy running around looking at books i just left. Went down to a guy i know at Discount Tire and told him what i was looking for. Just so happened that a guy was there getting some Nitto Terra grapplers(sp?). They were 305/55/20 on OEM wheels. They fit, but just barely! So with knowing that i am pretty sure that the BFG 285/65/20 will fit. I got them on order and will let yall kow how they fit.
Well got the tires on yesterday and the truck looks great!! I did end up going with 285/65/20's. I have very very little scrub. It just taps the iner finder in a shap turn to the right. I am going to modify it alittle and ride. Thanks guys for all you input.
