New guy seeking tire help.

Hello everyone, I'm new here and would love some tire advise. I have a 2008 Fx4 that is wearing a 2.5 inch front level kit with a 3 inch replacment block in the rear to retain the factory rake. For tires I currently have 305-65-18 BfGoodrich A/T's on the factory 18x7.5 Fx4 wheels. I am looking for some taller tires for my factory wheels and I'm not quite sure what to get. There are 4 differant sizes that I am considering and they are,285/75/18, 305/70/18, 315/70/18, and 35/12.50/18. As for brands, I would like to stick with either Toyo M/T or Mickey Thompson MTZ's. Right now I have zero tire rub in foward, and very minor rubbing at full lock in reverse. I understand I may some trimming to do with the taller tires but I need something that fills the wheelwells better than the bfs. Would any please lend me some advise on what would fill my wheel wells without a bigger lift and major rubbing with my factory wheels. Thank you all in advance.

A 35x12.50-18, (305/70-18) will fit but there will be some minor rubbing on the control arms at full steering lock. A 285/75-18 is the same height (approximately 35 inches) but about an inch narrow and shouldn't rub at all. This will also be a better fit for the OEM wheels.

Thank you Wandell for a quick response. How do you think the 315 will work? I really want to buy the right size tire, don't want any regrets.

If you looking for the least amount of rub the 285/75R18 would be the way to go. The 35x12.5R18 is a good fit but does rub a little lock to lock. I guess it would depend on what tire you wanted and if it was available in the size.

I've never seen a 315/70-18 tire but that would be getting close to a 36 inches tall. I think that would be too large. I wouldn't go larger than a 35x12.50-18 (305/70-18).

Are either of those offered in a 295/70/18? I am running those on factory wheels with a 2.5 level and no rubbing.

Thanks for the responces and I have decided to go with the Toyo Open Country M/T in the 285/75/18 size. They seem like they should fit nicley.

Do you have any pictures of the truck you can post? I myself ordered a 2.5" leveling kit with the intention of running 35's, but I like the factory rake, so I'm interested to see how yours looks with the blocks in the back. Doesn't need to be with the new tires, just a pick of the stance
