wheel backspacing with rough country 4-5"

Ok, just installed a rough country suspension lift on my 97 and found some used helo maxx6 17x9 wheels. problem is that they have 5.4" backspacing and the kit says that they will rub the knuckles with anything more than 4.5". I really like these wheels and they are at a great price. so the question is, can they be used with this lift anyways without rubbing? and if they do rub, cant i get some 1" wheel spacers which will but the backspacing at 4.4" right? thanks in advance

Personally I would not go that route.

just found some more with 4.52 back spacing. will these work? will .02" of a difference make them rub?

That is ALOT of spacer, not to mention you would still be pretty close to not clearing. By the time you pay for the spacers, longer studs, and get done with all your praying that they are going to be balanced you would be better off buying a new set that are in spec.

Thats much better, you can try those, and if needed then go with a .25" spacer, that should just slip in and bolt right up.

I have to agree with these guys. Way to much spacer there. That will give you a ton of problems in the future and end up costing you a small fortune in repairs from the damage. Get a wheel that fits correctly, you will be much happier.

Right. Obviously there is a reason that RC has that backspacing recommendation.

thanks for the input. I just found a guy that is running 4.73 backspacing with a rough country lift without any rubbing issues so maybe these will work.
