need advice on new tires

Okay,
I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on some new tires. I bought some 17" MB Predator wheels over the summer. I'm looking at Nitto Terra Grappler's in 295/70/17. I can get them on my wheels out the door at $860.
I'm open to suggestions. I've had the TG's before and like them, but would like a little more aggressive tire. I spend 95% of the time on pavement, so it's doesn't pay to go with a real off road tire. Looking at AT's.

Any other suggestions I should look at? The Cooper ST is interesting, but I don't know anyone who has them. They look like the BFG tread. I know the BFG's are louder than the Nitto's and that is one of my main criteria.

Anyway, I'll probably buy the Nitto's next week unless anyone has any other advice for me.

That's a great size tire to run on a leveled 4x4. Great on the higway too. The Trail Grappler in the same size may be a little too much for mostly highway driving but boy do they look great. I run the Toyo MT's in the same size on my 100 mile a day commute and they are holding up great, 21k miles and only 1/3 worn. Let us know what truck you're going to run them on.

I have an '01 super crew. I'm not sure if I can level it enough with the torsion bars to get a good fit, but I plan to add a body lift anyway.

A 295x70x17 ought to fit easily with a few crank's on the t-bar's. I've seen 305x70's fit OK also.

I really thought about the trail grapplers and also the Cooper STT, but I think you're right. They're just too aggressive for a street driver. They both look great though.

We'll see if I can fit them. I'm almost maxed out on my bars and only got an inch of lift. I may have one more turn on the bolts, maybe half an inch more. It could use at least another inch to really look level. Like I said though, if they don't fit, it's not that big a deal because I like the body lift look anyway, and I already planned on doing it. I want to fill in the wheel wells some, but I don't really want a totally stuffed look either.

And if I get the body lift I might be able to get at the rear spark plugs.
