305/55r20 or 285/55r20?

I recently purchased a 2004 f150 screw 4x4 with a 2" AS leveling kit on it and ordered 20x9 Incubus Poltergiest 501 wheels with +30mm offset. Will 305/55r20 terra grapplers fit with out rubbing or do I need to go with 285/55r20?

Why would you go with 285/55? 305 55 is at least a 33" tire.

I dont see why a 305/55 shouldnt work. However you could have SOME rubbing because of the height. You wont have a problem with the 305 portion though.

i would think it would work, you could also look at 275/60. they are 33" tall and 11.5 wide, plus cheaper

The 285/55 are under 33" and the other option I was also looking at was the 295/60 but it is a 34.45" tire and that is a little to big, so I narrowed it dowm to the 285/55 32.28" or 305/55 33.07". I'd like to go with the 305/55 cause I think it would look better but I don't want to spend the extra money and deal with rubbing issues.

I did consider the 275/60 but ruled them out because I am looking for a tire with over 3000lb max load because I do haul round bales every summer.

Here is your choices that you will be happy with.....305/55/20..which is what im running with a 4.5" of backspacing or if you are going to go a little skinnier of a tire. 285/65/20.... With your positive offset you can tuck a bigger tire....just remember just because the first number is bigger, that doesnt mean the diameter is bigger.... That last tire i told you is like a 34/11/20....the 305 is.....33/12.60/20...Do alittle reasearch on here and you will find what you are looking for.
Just for a reference...im running a 35.1250.17 on my truck in the winter.........so there is plenty of room with these trucks

You are basically comparing a 33x11.50 (285/55-20) and a 33x12.50 (305/55-20). Both will fit/work/look fine.

Good choice with the 305/55/20. Just installed a set of nittos today and couldnt be happier. They were kind of close up front but havent had to trim at all and no rubbing at full lock.

The level was on there when I bought the truck so I'm not sure if it's 2" or 2.5".
