simple question

simple question

ok i wanna order some bfg a/t ko in 315/70/17 and i have a 2.5" leaveinlg kit so hopefully they dont rub (stock rims). so anyways the specs of the tires say they go on a rim of a min of 8'' and the stock i think is 7.5 so would that be fine or no? Thanks

Well if it says a minimum of 8 and you have 7.5 then it isnt obvious you will be okay. Having said that you probably will be okay but in that case it will be an application by application basis.

Personally I would wait to hear what other people say. I dunno if I would do it.

If you need to know NOW then I would say no. If you can wait a day or two until someone who has had this exact problem can chime in.

i wouldnt, theres a reason it says minimum of 8"..

Sometimes running a tire on a wheel that is too narrow can cause the center portion of the tread to wear slightly faster than normal, similar to running too much air pressure. That being said, hundreds of members here and at FTW have run 315mm (12.50 inch) wide tires on the 7.5 inch wide Ford wheels with no problems at all.

The 315/70R17 will fit a 8.5" - 10" wide wheel. I would recommend staying with that range.
