Hey guys, I have another noob question for the experts. Right now, I have BFG all terrains on my 2002 fx4. Im gonna need some new tires pretty soon and want the mud terrain TA/KM2. Anyway, the current tires are 265/70/17. Im gonna crank the tbars so i can fit 33's when i get new tires. My question is what tire would you guys go with? Whats the widest i should run with sock wheels. Im looking at a 285/70/17.

My other question is, on tire-rack, when I look at available sizes it has some like 285/70/17, but then some say 33X10.5R17, hows that different than the other way of showing size.

BOth sizes will work fine but I'd go with the 285/70-17 which is basically a 33x11.50 tire. There are two ways of measuring tire size, metric and floation.
