2008 4x4 Tire Size

Need some adice before I order some tires online.... I have a 2008 4x4 XLT (not lariat) Supercrew...with stock rims (17 inch). The truck currently has 255's on it. Obviously those don't fill up the wheel well.. but I wanted to run them down before replacing them. I do not have a leveling kit on my truck ( at least not yet)... and if I did it would not be over 2 inches. I drive 95% highway, but like to use it in light off-road during hunting season in Georgia..
My question is... what is the largest tire I can put on without having to install a leveling kit that would look somewhat ok. I was considering 275's but didn't know if they would be scrub. I appreciate any guidance you fine folks could provide!

If you want to go with 275s get the 275/70R17s. They will fit and no leveling kit required.

If you want to see what that size looks like, take a look at my gallery and the pics of my 09. That is the size that I got OE.

Thanks. I didn't know if there was a clearance difference between the 2008 and the 2009 body styles.

You can fit a 285x70x17 on a 4x4 stock. If you get the truck leveled later it will look great with this size tire.

I agree. I'd go with 285/70-17's.
