Questions about Cooper STTs

I have a good buddy wanting to put the STTs on his 02 F150, he's wanting the 33x12.50x17s..I know this is a silly question but we cant find it anywhere, Coopers website says they are white wall. Is the other side black without the outlining? He refuses to have the white on the tire..Also we've heard problems regarding balancing..Anybody with some input? Thanks guys..

It could vary on different sizes, but the 33x12.50R15 STTs I had a couple years ago were black on one side, white lettering on the other. No problems balancing them, they were a very smooth tire. I would buy them again (and might in the future).

I've got them in a different size on my truck (35x12.5r20) and I have no complaints. Great tire! Balances easy and rides pretty smooth. Alright wet traction, great mud traction, great snow traction. They weren't that expensive either. I've got about 14,000 miles on them now and I guess that I have about 2/3-1/2 of the tread left.

Brianjwilson- How many miles did you get out of your set?

I don't have any idea how many miles I put on those tires. I ran them on my Ranger for a while, then the Sport Trac, then I traded the sport trac and still had half tread or better. They seemed to have a good tread life based on how quickly I wore out some cheap no name mud terrains in the past.
