2001 F-150 4x4 4WABS ABS light on all the time

Folks,
Recently my ABS light came on and frequently went back off. Changed the rear sensor with new. Noticed the abs light on constantly. Pulled codes C-1096 ABS Hydralic pump motor circuit open. I had the abs module tested by BBA Remanufacturing in Taughton, MA, and they stated it was ok.

As a side note the rear sensor wire seems to be on a pivot connection type of lead that rotates, perhaps to compensate for the rear end movement. Has anyone notice that? Has anyone found a problem with that lead??

In any event the abs light is on all the time from the beginning after engine starts, until I shut the engine off.

Any mechanics out there with suggestions.
I hear people talking about an ABS relay. Is there an ABS relay? I don't see it in the owners guide.

Thanks Much

SPW

Have you checked the ABS fuse?
