Possible tire problem

I have a F -150 super crew which I have stock tires on the truck and on the left side is a BF goodrich tire (had to buy in an emergency when I had a Flat and the spare went bad after I had changed the tire) I have a loud hum that comes from the back left side of the truck and when I speed up so does the hum, until around 70 then the sound dies down to a low hum I am curious to know if anyone else has had the problem? It is not the rear differential I had the seal re done about three years ago when I noticed a leak. The tire does not show any unusual wear on it at all, the truck rides fine no pulling or no bumps, could it be something other than the tire?

Thanks
Dan

Rotate your tires and see if the hum changes location. That'll help narrow it down as to whether or not it's a tire or something else.

How many miles were on your original tread when you bought that emergency tire?

Did you only replace that one tire, or both on that axle? What position does that new tire sit at?

Assuming it is on the rear and there is one of two things could be happening. One is a tread difference that could be causing the hum. Second issue and problem is on that axle you have two different tires fighting for control. In a set of tires, there will always be a dominant tire that has control of direction. if you have two different tires, different sidewalls, tread, etc. they will be fighting each other.

Your best bet is to make sure that you have the same exact tires on the axles (same 2 brands, tread on the front, goes for the rear also.)

If the humming still goes on then I would consider taking look at differential. Might be mechanical then .

Running an odd ball tire on 1 corner is not a good idea. You have to take into consideration the Revs per mile. Madlux is right, you have tires on the same axle rotating at 2 different speed and that is not good. I would say its just because of the odd ball tire.
