can this tire fit on this rim?

Instead of buying an expensive brand new set of rims, I'm gonna buy some used 2010 F150 17" rims off craigslist for a $150, and get them powdercoated flat black at $70 a rim. The thing is, I'm looking to fit a 33-35" tire, and I don't know if the OEM's will fit a 315/70/17 or something of that size. Anyone know if the stockers will fit the bigger tires?? Thanks.

Although a 315mm wide (12.50 inch) tire is wider than recommended for a 7.5 inch wide wheel (most companies recommend an 8 to 10 inch wheel), several members here have done it with no problems. Sometimes running too wide of a tire can cause the center portion of the tread to wear slightly faster than normal, similar to running too much air. If you are gonna keep those OEM wheels, a slightly narrower tire would be a better choice. A 295/70-17 (34x12.00) would be a better fit and only slightly smaller.

The 315/70R17 tire size will fit a 8.5" to 10" wide wheel. Have to agree, you need to go to a little narrower tire size you you will be better off.
